Status and Occurrence A common resident on both Trinidad and Tobago, widely distributed in semi-open country, secondary forest, scrub and the edge of true forest.  Ranges from extreme southern Texas south to Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay.  A unique subspecies (L.v. tobagensis) is found only on Tobago.
